RDC temporarily halts Ameenee Magu project over equipment constrains

Road Development Corporation (RDC) has decided to temporarily halt physical works on the redevelopment of Ameenee Magu over equipment constrains.

RDC, on Tuesday, said that physical works on Ameenee Magu project has been temporary halted over absence of equipment required to upgrade the services provided by Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC).

They also added that Planning Ministry had instructed to temporary halt the project till the acquirement of equipment required to proceed with the work without halting.

RDC is undertaking the project on segment basis. As per the company, all work under the first segment apart from laying asphalt has been completed as of present.

The company states that work on the project is proceeding as planned.

The redevelopment of Ameenee Magu was contracted to RDC by Planning Ministry on July 3.

Under the project, valued at MVR 84.4 million, RDC will develop 7.1 kilometers of asphalt road, install a storm drain system, and install street lights.

The company is required to complete the project within 210 days.

Physical works on the redevelopment of Ameenee Magu was officially inaugurated on August 30, during a special ceremony.
