Additional Maldivian arrested in Addu shop robbery

An additional Maldivian has been arrested in the case involving the robbery of a shop in Addu City’s Hithadhoo district by threatening.

A 40-year-old man was arrested in connection to the case under court order on Tuesday.

Police, in a message to the media on Wednesday night, said the man was remanded in custody for 30 days upon presented before the court.

They also noted that an additional arrest was made in connection to the case earlier today; a 31-year-old Maldivian man.

The case is under investigation by the Police.

A video of the robbery went viral on social media on Wednesday which showed two men entering the shop with a wooden plank and a small knife and threaten the shopkeeper to rob items. Their threats are heard on the video.
