A worker at a spa in Hulhumale’ has been attacked with a box cutter in a robbery.
A police spokesperson said the attack took place at a spa located in Hulhumale’ Phase I on Saturday early morning.
The victim, identified as a woman of foreign nationality, was cut with a box cutter, threatened and robbed of her money.
The police did not say whether a suspect was arrested, nor did it disclose any other details.
The Maldivian capital has seen a rise in robberies and assaults in recent months.
The police have received reports of 2,620 cases of theft and robberies and 425 cases of assault so far this year.
