President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Wednesday, has appointed 13 new state ministers to government ministries.
The new appointees were presented their letters of appointment during a ceremony held at the President’s Office this evening.
The new appointees are as follows;
1. Minister of State for foreign Affairs – Sheryna Abdul Samad
2. Minister of State for Finance – Zidna Ibrahim
3. Minister of State for Education – Aishath Safoora
4. Minister of State for Health – Muhammad Zaheen
5. Minister of State for Health – Aminath Shirna
6. Minister of State for Tourism – Ahmed Nazim Mohamed
7. Minister of State for Islamic Affairs – Abdulla Saudhan
8. Minister of State for Social and Family Development – Mariyam Azra Ahmed
9. Minister of State for Social and Family Development – Ahmed Athif
10. Minister of State for Education – Aishath Zuhurubaan
11. Minister of State for Climate Change Environment and Energy – Ibrahim Mimrah
12. Minister of State for Youth Empowerment Information and Arts – Abdul Latheef Ahmed
13. Minister of State for Cities, Local Government and Public Works – Mohamed Mahir
Safoora, who was appointed Minister of State for Education, had worked at CHSE for 22 years, where she was serving as the principal prior to her appointment. Including Safoora, there are two state ministers in the Education Ministry at present.
President Muizzu, after assuming office, has been making new appointments of senior posts in the state-owned companies. They include 21 individuals at ministerial levels and over 70 deputy ministers.
