Opposition People’s National Congress' (PNC) leader Abdul Raheem Abdulla (Adhurey), on Monday night, stated that everyone who politically worked to elect this administration is an enemy of the Maldivians.
Speaking at a rally held at HA. Dhidhdhoo last night, as part of opposition leader, former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom’s ongoing tour of Haa Alifu Atoll – Adhurey alleged that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih gives changes to those who disrespect the Islamic religion. He stressed that this alone, was enough reason to change this administration.
“It has been approximately 900 years since Islam was embraced. If suddenly suspected that the Islamic religion was being lost, much should be done to ensure otherwise. The first thing, in this regard, is to remove the current administration from power,” he had said.
During his speech – Adhurey also alleged that Maldives’ independence and sovereignty has been sold to a foreign nation. He described every person who politically worked to elect the current administration as an enemy of the Maldivians.
“Qasim Ibrahim, and Colonel Nazim are two people who had spent the most to elect this administration. They will always remain as enemies,” he added.
Adhurey also described next year’s election as a competition between a representative candidate of Maldivian citizens and a representative candidate of India.
He said that every candidate from the current government coalition is a representative of India. Therewith, he stressed that the only candidate representing the people of Maldives that is contesting next year is Yameen.
Stating that the current administration subjected the country and its people to a vulnerable state - Adhurey said this can only be overcome by first resolving to change the situation.
He detailed that those who resolve to change the situation will need a smart leader capable of guiding the nation to a good destination – adding only Yameen has these characteristics.
Adhurey said the development brought to the nation by Yameen, and his service to the country will never fade for as long as Maldives exists. He emphasized that the election of a leader like Yameen is necessary again, for Maldives to reach new heights of development.
