Pickup crashes into road divider, bus in an accident over Hulhumale’ highway

A pickup lost control after its tires burst and crashed into the road divider and a bus in an accident over the Hulhumale’ highway in the early hours of this Sunday.

Maldives Police Service reports the accident took place at approximately 2:14 am.

The pickup had been headed from Hulhumale’ to Male’ City when its two front tires burst. It had crashed into the road divider before crashing into a bus headed the opposite direction to Hulhumale’.

The crashes resulted in massive damages to the front of the pickup, a dent on the bus, and destroyed a section of the road divider.

Maldives Police Service reports the driver of the pickup is in possession of a valid driving license.

The accident did not result in injuries to any person, and is under investigation by Maldives Police Service.
