A woman sustained injuries on Saturday after she was struck by a motorcycle while using the zebra crossing to cross a road in Hulhumale’.
The accident, which took place in the Badeechaa Hingun in Hulhumale’ Phase I, was reported to the police at 02:16 pm Saturday.
It involved a 59-year-old Maldivian woman who was struck by a motorcycle headed in the north-southern direction as she was using the zebra crossing to get to the other side of the road.
The police identified the motorcyclist involved in the accident as a Bangladeshi male who does not have a license to drive motorcycles.
The woman injured in the accident was taken to the Hulhumale’ Hospital, which informed the police that she did not sustain any serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the motorcycle involved in the accident has been towed, and the police are investigating the case.
