MIRA honours top taxpayers with Ran Fanara awards

The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) celebrated its 15th anniversary presenting Ran Fanara awards to recognize the highest taxpayers over the past 15 years.

During a ceremony held on Saturday evening, MIRA bestowed 15 gold awards. The awards were presented by the guest of honour, Finance Minister Moosa Zameer.

The recipients of the 15 gold awards are:

  • Bank of Maldives Public Limited Company

  • Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun Public Limited (Dhiragu)

  • I&T Management Pvt Ltd

  • Ithaafushi Investment Pvt Ltd

  • Kasa Holdings Pvt Ltd

  • Kuredu Holdings Pvt Ltd

  • Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL)

  • Ooredoo Maldives Public Limited

  • Qatar Airways Group

  • Reethi Rah Resort Pvt Ltd

  • State Bank of India

  • State Trading Organization Public Limited

  • Trans Maldivian Airways Pvt Ltd

  • Universal Enterprises Pvt Ltd

  • Villa Shipping & Trading Pvt Ltd

These companies have paid the highest amount of tax to MIRA during the period from January 1, 2011, to June 30 of this year.

MIRA has publicly disclosed the criteria and rules for the ‘Golden Fifteen’ or Ran Fanara Awards, aligning with the authority's general guidelines. However, MIRA did not reveal the total tax amounts paid by the awarded companies.

In addition to recognizing top taxpayers, MIRA also presented special awards to its employees who have served for 10 and 15 years, acknowledging their dedication and hard work. An employee was also honored as the 'Staff of the Year' for the past year.
