According to the President, the initiative will be implemented through a comprehensive strategy that includes targeted concessions, incentives, public infrastructure investments, and focused marketing campaigns, all aimed at attracting investment and stimulating regional economic growth.
The President noted that, with continued enhancements to public transport infrastructure, the Maldives is now ready to enter a new era in tourism.
He added that further details regarding the initiative will be disclosed by Tourism Ministry in the coming week.
Notably, earlier today, President Muizzu had announced the government’s decision to designate several islands exclusively for the development of halal tourism.
He detailed that the initiative would be accompanied by substantial incentives for investors, aiming to diversify and enhance the Maldives’ tourism offerings.
Maldives’ economy is entirely dependent on its tourism industry.
