President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans to conduct a mega farming project in GA. Kondey.

Kondey was the third stop in President Muizzu’s tour of GA. Atoll on Wednesday.

President Muizzu arrived in Kondey – the third stop in his tour of GA. Atoll – amid heavy rain on Wednesday evening. But a crowd awaited his arrival regardless of the rain – which continued to fall heavy as he held a meeting with the residents of the small island community.

Addressing the gathering, President Muizzu announced plans to run a mega farming project in Kondey.

He said that strengthening the country’s agricultural sector and strengthening food security is a top priority for his administration.

“I assure you that we will run an important farming project in this island in collaboration with the people of this island and the local council, in order to develop this island,” he said.

President Muizzu said he will also expand the island’s harbor, as requested by residents.

He also pledged to run a social housing project in Kondey, and improve the electricity network and the quality of education provided at the local school.

“I will pay special attention to getting all this done, In Sha Allah. I will try hard to solve all this. I will produce results, In Sha Allah,” he said.

President Muizzu said that his administration will not discriminate between islands based on the size of population when running developmental projects.
