President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided that all sessions in schools across the Maldives will begin with the national anthem.

Sharing key decisions made during Tuesday’s cabinet meeting, President Muizzu announced that once classes begin in January after the first term break, all school sessions will begin with the national anthem.

He said that the national anthem will be sung during assembly.

“Staring the school term in January after the December break, all school students will begin the session by singing the national anthem,” he said.

President Muizzu said that revival of the spirit of patriotism is one of his administration’s key pledges.

I believe it important that school students are instilled a love for the country, and made to understand what’s said in the national anthem, he said.

President Muizzu described it as a key initiative implemented from within the education system to build patriotic future citizens.
