Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has said that teams from the Authority will be visiting businesses, today, in Male’ and islands where their offices are located as part of their ‘Compliance Day’.

MIRA said that today's activities are aimed at identifying and providing assistance to taxpayers in filing their tax returns on time as part of their 'Fansa aahi' campaign.

The campaign aims to increase the number of tax returns filed on time.

By submitting and paying tax returns by the stipulated deadline, the "compliance score" will improve, and the taxpayer will be given priority in the reliefs granted by MIRA.

In addition, MIRA said the taxpayer will be identified in the records of the tax authority as a person who has completed the tax return filing arrangements required under the tax laws.

Therefore, taxpayers are advised to pay special attention to submitting their tax returns on time. If you need assistance in filing the tax return, MIRA asks that those people please seek the assistance of the MIRA teams during today's activity.
