One of the people injured in the accident off Sinamale’ Bridge on Sunday night sustained critical injuries and is being treated on a ventilator, according to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The accident was reported to police at around 11:33 pm Sunday.
According to police, the accident involved a motorbike which rearended another motorbike which had been waiting at the Male’ traffic light.
The accident resulted in injuries to three people; a 31-year-old male, a 43-year-old male, and a 47-year-old male.
The 31-year-old and the 47-year-old were taken to nearby Senahiya Hospital, while the 43-year-old, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to IGMH.
He showed little movement when the ambulance arrived around 11:50 pm.
IGMH told Sun on Monday that the man has been transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and is being treated on a ventilator.
The hospital declined to disclose details of his injuries in order to protect his privacy.
