The delegation from the Chefs Guild of Maldives on Monday departed for Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates to participate in the Worldchefs Congress & Expo 2022.
The congress will be held from May 30 to June 2, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.
Notably, this is the first major international gathering of culinary and hospitality professionals since the global COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
This event grants the opportunity to expand and network professional bonds with the most influential culinary body worldwide, with thousands of chefs representing 110 countries.
As per Worldchefs Congress & Expo, this year’s event will witness keynotes and presentations from industry pioneers and innovators; the Educators’ Forum that comprises representatives of 80 culinary schools from 50 countries; chefs from more than 70 countries competing for the title of World Best Chefs at the Global Chefs Challenge; the trade show of the event, “The Expo”; and the Billy Gallagher Young Chefs Forum - designed for young chefs under the age of 25 to come together with industry peers and mentors and seek new professional opportunities and learn valuable skills from each other.
The Maldivian delegation consists of the President of the Chefs Guild of Maldives Mariyam Nooradheen, all the exco members, 24 chefs, and eight junior chefs.
