Aeroflot to increase Maldives operations

Russian flag carrier, Aeroflot is set to increase flight frequency to the Maldives to four per week starting from tomorrow. 

The airline recommenced operations to the Maldives from September 11 and conducted two flights per week. Russian airline Nordwind is also set to commence operations to the Maldives starting from October 27 while Azur Air from Russia is also planning to start operations. 

The popularity of Maldives as a tourist destination is on the rise among Russian tourists. A total of 6,026 Russian tourists have visited the Maldives since the nation reopened its borders on July 15. Aeroflot has so far carried 3,961 passengers to the Maldives with a flight movement of 24.
