Azerbaijan Airlines is set to launch its first-ever direct flights to the Maldives on November 8, connecting Azerbaijan’s capital Baku to the Velana International Airport in the Maldivian capital, Male’.
According to the airlines, its new Maldives route will feature twice-weekly flights, with departures from Baku on Fridays and Sundays, and return legs from Male’ on Saturdays and Mondays.
It plans to use its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft for these flights, ensuring a comfortable travel experience on the six-hour journey.
Tickets for the inaugural flights are already available, with roundtrip fares starting at USD 633.
Azerbaijan Airlines noted that the expansion of its route network to add the Maldives will provide travelers with a new option for reaching the idyllic island destination, known for its pristine beaches and luxury resorts.
