Emirates to ramp up flight frequency to Maldives

One of the biggest airlines in the world, Emirates is set to ramp up flight frequency to the Maldives to ten flights per week. 

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) said that the airline was set to increase frequency from October 25. The airline currently conducts seven flights per week to the Maldives operating from Dubai, UAE. 

A Boeing 777 aircraft is utilized for the flights by the airline. Emirates began operations on the next day that Maldives reopened its borders due to a four-month-long closure in light of COVID-19.

Emirates is the airline that carried the most number of passengers to the Maldives since the nation reopened with a total of 13,379 passengers and flight movements calculated at 162, according to Tourism Ministry statistics. UAE is the nation with the second-highest number of arrivals to the Maldives with a total of 3,377 tourists.
