Russian flag carrier, Aeroflot has recommenced operations to the Maldives, after a halt in operations due to COVID-19.
As part of the recommencement of flights between the Maldives and Russia, Aeroflot will be conducting flights between the nations.
The Russian flag-carrier will hold two flights per week between Russia’s Sheremetyevo airport and Velana International Airport.
The flights between Moscow and Male’ City will be held on Thursday and Sunday while the flights between Male' City and Moscow will be held on Friday and Sunday.
Before the COVID-19 lockdown, Aeroflot had held one flight per day between the two nations.
Russia remains an important tourist source market for the Maldives. Since the country reopened on July 15, the Maldives has welcomed 9,297 visitors. Despite no direct travels, Maldives saw a number of Russian tourists during the period.
