Individual quarantined in Fulidhoo tests positive for COVID-19

An individual in home-quarantine on the island of V. Fulidhoo has tested positive for COVID-19.

Fulidhoo Council President Sanaa Ali Wafir, speaking with Sun, said that the individual was a 20-year old local female who had gone to the island from Male’ City. She said that no one else was in contact with the individual.

“She tested positive after completing her 14-day quarantine period.” Said Sanaa.

Nine others had traveled to the island along with the woman. Three of them were quarantined in the same guesthouse as the woman. 

“All nine had tested negative for the virus.” Said Sanaa. 

An individual quarantined on the island of Hinnavaru also tested positive for COVID-19, today. The Maldives has now confirmed 3,719 cases of the virus.
