Police officer’s vehicle destroyed in arson attack at G. A. Vilingili

A motorcycle which belongs to a police officer stationed at G. A. Vilingili has been burned down in an arson attack.

‘Sun’ has been informed the incident took place at the officer’s residence sometime between 2:30 am and 3 am this Tuesday.

No one was injured in the incident.

A local who spoke to ‘Sun’ said the police officer received multiple threats prior to the arson attack.

Maldives Police Service has confirmed receiving report of an arson attack on the motorcycle of a police officer stationed at G. A. Vilingili at 3:07 am.

The fire destroyed the motorcycle beyond use, and also damaged the door of the residence, and the washing machine and outdoor air conditioning unit at the residence.

A police forensic team is currently at the scene to gather evidence.
