Two men arrested on suspicion of torching a car

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of torching a car parked at a parking zone in Male’ City.

Maldives Police Service said they received a report at approximately 18:25pm on Monday evening regarding the torching of a car parked at Sinamale’ 1 Parking Zone in Buruzu Magu.

As per the Police, two men have been arrested in connection to the case under a court order; Khalid Mahmood, 35, M. Araaraiykuri, Male’ and Hassan Naseem, 31, Blue Wind, ADh. Maamgili.

The case is under further investigation by the Police.

A video of the torched car went viral on social media on the day of the incident which shows that the car was torched from the front. The video also shows MNDF’s Fire and Rescue officials engaged in controlling the fire.
