He added that cabinet ministers, government officials, leaders of state-owned enterprises, and parliamentarians are all working collaboratively to achieve these goals.
“The realization (of developmental goals) will be seen in the coming weeks days, not years, but weeks and days. The things we have been preparing for during the past days will take physical form. What we have been preparing for over the past days will begin to take physical shape. By the will of the Almighty, we will witness tangible progress across all Maldivian islands, including Malé,” he said.
Emphasizing that true national development begins at the individual level, the President stated that progress would remain superficial unless Maldivians embrace their identity, take pride in their heritage, honor the sacrifices of national heroes, and prioritize the Dhivehi language, Islamic faith, and core national values.
Reflecting on the importance of independence, he described it as a hard-earned legacy shaped by the courage, sincerity, and patriotism of past generations. Preserving that legacy, he said, is a collective duty shared by all Maldivians.
The President expressed confidence that by uniting in defense of the nation’s independence and working to preserve it for future generations, the people can secure a strong and sovereign future. He stressed that this must be accepted with conviction, not hesitation.
He also noted that there is no substitute for national unity and no shortcuts to sustaining independence—only through a deep, genuine love for the country can this be achieved.
Reaffirming that the government's primary focus is on empowering Maldivians, the President acknowledged that while external assistance may be welcomed, when necessary, the most meaningful progress must be driven by the Maldivian people themselves. He added that maintaining robust international relationships is important, so long as they align with the nation’s interests.
“Our primary goal is to empower Maldivians. For Maldivians to undertake any work necessary within the borders of the country. However, we will maintain close relations with other nations so long as it benefits Maldives,” he said.
Calling for unity and determination, the President urged the nation to advance with shared purpose, emphasizing that a country’s strength lies in its people’s common values and enduring patriotism.
