Maldivian announces seeking second Airbus A330

The national carrier, Maldivian, has announced seeking its second Airbus A330 aircraft for the fleet.

The airline on Thursday made the announcement for interested parties to submit proposals to lease an Airbus A330 for a five-year period in accordance with RFPI terms and conditions.

Proposals will be accepted until 23:59hrs on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Maldivian brought its first Airbus A330 widebody on January 6th this year. The aircraft, already part of the airline’s flight operations, travels to three Chinese routes; Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu.

Besides the popular Chinese routes, Maldivian has announced plans to operate the A330 to European destinations as well.

Earlier, Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced the airline would be commencing direct flight operations to European destinations by October 2025.

Expansion of Maldivian’s direct flight routes to international destinations is among the key pledges of President Muizzu.
