Tourist arrivals to the Maldives in February shows a slight decline compared to the same period last year.
According to the monthly arrivals statistics released by Maldives Immigration on Thursday, 214,091 tourists visited the Maldives in February 2025. This shows a decline of 3,300 visitors or 1.5 percent compared to the 217,391 arrivals recorded in February 2024.
However, this decline may possibly be attributed to a shorter February this year as 2024 was a leap year.

While China continues to lead as the top source market for tourist arrivals overall, the United Kingdom overtook China to take the top spot in February. This could be due to a decline in travel by Chinese tourists with the end of the Chinese New Year holidays in January.
TOP SOURCE MARKETS (FEBRUARY 2025):
The Maldives saw an average of 7,646 visitors per day, with the highest single-day arrivals recorded at 9,518 visitors and the lowest at 5,479 visitors.
Total arrivals as of end on February stands at 428,954 visitors.
The Maldives had welcomed a record two million tourist arrivals last year. The island destination, which won the award for the World Travel Awards (WTA) World's Leading Destination for the fifth consecutive year in 2024, expects to raise tourist arrivals to 2.2 million this year.
