Four youths arrested with drugs from Hanimaadhoo airport

Four youths were arrested from the Hanimaadhoo airport in an overnight operation on Thursday, after they were found in possession of drugs.

A police spokesperson said the suspects were arrested from the airport on early Thursday in an operation after the Counter-Narcotics Intelligence were tipped off regarding an attempt to smuggle drugs into HDh. Hanimaadhoo.

The suspects were identified as:

• Arsham Ali Waheed, 28, Maahil, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo
• Mohamed Rishwan Abdul Sattar, 22, Raiyvillage, S. Feydhoo
• Hussain Shavin, 22, Nalava, K. Guraidhoo
• Fathimath Shaaha Hassan, 20, Morningson, N. Velidhoo

They were arrested in a joint operation by Kulhudhuffushi City Police, Hanimaadhoo Police, and Intelligence.

The police found 13.85 grams of drugs on the suspects.

All four suspects were remanded in custody of the police for 30 days by the Hanimaadhoo Magistrate Court.

The case is under further investigation by the police.
