President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has sought parliamentary approval to appoint non-resident ambassadors to additional countries.
A letter from the President, seeking approval for three nominees as non-resident ambassadors for three countries, was read out at Wednesday’s parliamentary sitting. They are:
Subsequently, their names have been sent to the Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee for review.
Another letter from the President, seeking approval for a nominee as a permanent representative to an international organization, was also read out during Wednesday’s sitting.
In this regard, the President nominated Ahmed Sareer as the Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the Organization of Islamic Corporation (OIC).
Notably, President Muizzu sought parliamentary approval to appoint non-resident ambassadors to Canada and Egypt on Tuesday.
