Maldivian FM embarks on Saudi visit to explore investment opportunities

Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has departed to Saudi Arabia on an official visit, during which he is set to explore opportunities to enhance trade and investment between the two Islamic countries.

Khaleel left for Saudi Arabia on a three-day visit on Tuesday night.

According to the Foreign Ministry, he embarked on the visit at the invitation of his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud.

During his visit, Khaleel is scheduled to hold official discussions with Al-Saud and review the longstanding and close brotherly ties of friendship and cooperation between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, and also explore new areas of future collaborations between the two countries.

He is also scheduled to meet with Saudi Commerce Minister Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi, and explore opportunities to enhance collaboration in trade and investments between the two countries.

The Foreign Ministry said that the visit underscores the Maldives steadfast commitment to deepening the brotherly ties with Saudi Arabia, with a focus on expanding cooperation across key sectors.

Khaleel is accompanied by Dr. Hala Hameed, Secretary, Bilateral, and Khadeeja Najeeha, Joint Secretary at the Foreign Ministry.

He is set to conclude his visit on Friday.
