President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Tuesday, extended gratitude to his Estonian counterpart, Dr. Alar Karis, for the warm hospitality and heartfelt welcome he has received since his arrival in Estonia on an official visit.
President Karis officially welcome President Muizzu to Estonia during a ceremony on Monday.
President Muizzu, via a post on X on Tuesday, extended gratitude to President Karis and the Estonian government for the invitation to undertake the historic visit to Estonia.
“The warm hospitality and heartfelt welcome I received since my arrival have been excellent. It is indeed an honor to be here,” he added.
In his post, the President referred to the meeting he held with President Karis on Tuesday, during which he had productive discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.

President Muizzu added the shared vision and priorities between the two nations on digital governance, cyber resilience, climate change, and education, among other areas, will guide the nations’ collective efforts toward mutual progress in the years to come.
“As you rightly said, solidarity and unity between small states such as ours are crucial, not only for our security and sovereignty but also for global peace and sustainable development,” the President added, referencing a remark made by his Estonian counterpart.
According to the President’s Office, President Muizzu’s Estonia visit is aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and exploring partnership opportunities in digital technology, cybersecurity, e-governance, climate issues, and education between the Maldives and Estonia.
He will conclude the visit on Thursday.
The President is accompanied by a high-level delegation from the government.
