MWSC launches significant updates to online services

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has launched new features on its online portal, enhancing convenience for customers seeking the company’s services.

The new features were launched during a ceremony held at MWSC on Monday by the company’s chairperson Shamhooz Ahmed and managing director Abdul Matheen Mohamed.

The new features introduced to MWSC’s online portal are as follows:

• The integration of e-Faas utilized in the provision of the services of various government offices online through which customers can apply for MWSC’s services
• Filling and submission of applications online
• Status updates of applications viewable by stage 
• Customers to receive updates on the progress of the application via SMS based on each stage 
• View information on all accounts opened by the customer via one platform
• Settling more than one bill at the same time via one account and selling bills charged to different accounts at the same time
• If smart meters have been installed at customers' households as part of MWSC's initiative to replace old meters with smart meters, customers can use the portal to monitor their water usage, check meter readings, and view due bills along with their details.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, MWSC’s managing director Matheen said the purpose of providing the company’s services online is to utilize modern technology and resources to provide services to customers in a manner that is easily accessible and environmentally friendly.

As such, he expressed hope that the newly launched features on its online portal would provide further easements to its customers.

Matheen said MWSC’s goal is to continuously enhance the company's products, leveraging the experience gained over time, and ensure that the benefits are enjoyed not only by the company but by the entire Maldivian society.
