Three, including a minor, arrested with drugs in raid on Galolhu home

Three people, including a minor, have been arrested with drugs and a large sum of money in a raid on a home in the Galolhu district of Male’ City.

The police announced on Saturday that officers from the Drug Enforcement Department raided G. Swing under a court warrant based on information received by Police Intelligence regarding the use and sale of drugs out of the property.

The suspects arrested in the case includes a 17-year-old, whose identity is being withheld as they are a minor.

The other two suspects arrested in the case were identified as:

• Mohamed Evan, 23, New Valley, Dhoodigan, Gn. Fuvahmulah
• Ahmed Safneez, 41, Ma. Cotton Villa, K. Male’

The police did not say when the raid was conducted.

According to police, officers seized one gram of heroin, 0.75 grams of methamphetamine, and 43.29 grams of cannabis from the property.

The police also found MVR 24,110 in cash from the house.

The 17-year-old was released by the police, while Evan was remanded in custody of the police for 15 days, and Safneez for 10 days when presented before the Criminal Court for their remand hearing.

The case is under further investigation by the police.
