Authorities have arrested an individual suspected of attacking and robbing an expatriate in Hulhumale' Phase II.
The incident was reported to Maldives Police Service on Wednesday.
Police, in a message shared with local media, said they made an arrest in relation to the incident. The victim was treated at the clinic in Hiyaa Tower H16, after which they were discharged.
The law enforcement authority added they viewed the CCTV footage to identify the suspect, and made the arrest sometime on Wednesday.
Police arrested Ibrahim Mohamed, aged 40 years, originally from Haa Alifu atoll Maarandhoo.
Ibrahim was presented to Hulhumale' Magistrate Court on Thursday, where the court ordered him be remanded until investigation concludes.
Police is also looking for a second suspect in relation to the case.
