Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla has emphasized the need to seek academic solutions for issues faced in the Maldives.

He made the remark while speaking at a ceremony held at Villa College to launch two new programs.

In this regard, Speaker Abdul Raheem said President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu believes that decisions must be centered around academic research rather than mere statements.

“Whether be it a nation’s economic sector, social sector, legal sector or any another, comprehensive and sustainable decisions can only be made by academic research,” he said.

He described President Muizzu as an individual with an avid interest for researching and in this trajectory, said research opportunities will be facilitated to the public under his leadership.

He added that an educated individual such as President Muizzu being the nation’s President is extremely beneficial to students.

Speaking further, Speaker Abdul Raheem underscored Villa College as an educational institution that has achieved significant success and is nearing par with international colleges.

“Villa College is an educational institution providing modern education, allowing our Maldivian students to remain in the Maldives and study,” he said.
