Three people are being treated in the hospital after being injured in two accidents at Hulhumale’ Phase II.
One of the accidents took place near H5 tower and involved a car and motorbike. The motorbike had veered out of control and collided with the car.
Police said the accident was reported to the authority at approximately 8:13am.
Citing the hospital, Police said the 19-year-old Maldivian man who was driving the motorbike is in serious condition. He did not have a driver’s license.
The second accident took place in Aahiya Gofi and involved a collision between two motorbikes. Police said the accident was reported to the authority at approximately 9:46pm.
As per the authority, the drivers of both motorcycles were injured in the accident and are currently being treated at Hulhumale’ Hospital. One of them, a 21-year-old Maldivian man, did not have a driver’s license.
The other driver was identified as a Maldivian woman. She had a driver’s license.
Both accidents are under investigation by the Police.
Road accidents in the Maldives have seen a sharp increase, especially in the Male’ area. Some of these accidents have resulted in fatalities.
