The driver of the car who was involved in the four-vehicle accident at Hulhumale’ on Monday night has been arrested and remanded in custody for seven days.
A police spokesperson told Sun on Monday night that the accident took place around 07:42 pm on Monday, when a speeding car veered out of control and crashed into three motorbikes.
Four people were injured in the accident.
A Police Spokesperson, on Thursday, said the driver of the car was arrested on the night of the accident. They identified the driver as a 30-year-old Maldivian man.
Hulhumale’ Magistrate Court has remanded him in custody for seven days.
Two of the victims injured in the accident are in critical condition. ADK Hospital has previously stated that one of them is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while the other is being treated at the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
The other victims were discharged after treatment at Hulhumale’ Hospital.
An eyewitness confirmed the police statement, detailing the accident had been a result of the speeding car veering out of control and crashing into multiple motorbikes.
