Man arrested for selling drugs in an apartment in Hulhumale’ Phase II

Maldives Police Service has arrested a man suspected of selling drugs in an apartment in Hulhumale’ Phase II on Monday night.

The suspect has been identified as a 38-year-old Maldivian man.

As per the Police, the man was arrested during an operation carried out based on a tip received to Police Intelligence regarding sale of drugs in an apartment in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

The apartment in question was searched under a court order during the joint operation carried out by the Drug Enforcement Department and Intelligence on Monday night during which 17 plastic plates containing items suspected to be drugs were seized.

Police reported that the suspect, when brought before Criminal Court, was remanded in custody for 15 days.

The case is under further investigation by the Drug Enforcement Department.

Police recently arrested a 36-year-old Maldivian man with four kilos of drugs during a search of a home in Male’ City.
