Applications open for Aasandha for IVF and IUI treatments

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has opened applications for aid to undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intrauterine insemination (IUI) under the state health insurance scheme – Aasandha.

According to announcements posted on the Government Gazette on Friday, applications will be open until 02:00 pm on May 15.

According to NSPA, aid for IVF treatment will be available this year to 100 married couples who score the highest among applicants.

Aasandha coverage for the treatment is available from medical facilities in Maldives and overseas facilities empaneled for the service.

Meanwhile, aid for IUI treatment will be available for up to three cycles from medical facilities in the Maldives empaneled for the service.

Applications can be submitted to NSPA counters at the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), Hulhumale’ Hospital and the fourth floor of Mookai Suites.

It can also be submitted online via email to [email protected] or via Viber to 7291402. Online applications will also be opened next week via Aasandha’s portal.

Introducing Aasandha coverage for IVF and IUI treatments was one of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s electoral pledges – and one which he had promised to deliver within the first 14 weeks in office.
