President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has departed on a one-day trip to Lh. Atoll – as part of his current nationwide tour of residential islands.
President Muizzu left for Lh. Atoll on Saturday morning. His first stop was Kurendhoo.
According to the President’s Office, he will visit four islands in Lh. Atoll; Kurendhoo, Madivaru, Hinnavaru and Naifaru.
During the visits, the president will engage with residents, and officials from councils and Women’s Development Committees (WDCs).
According to the President’s Office, he will actively interact with local communities and councils, seeking ways to expedite development projects.
The office said the interactions with the local councils will also involve discussions on community priorities and developmental vision for their respective islands.
The president’s current tour is aimed meeting with officials from all local councils in Maldives before Ramadan.
He has met with officials from over 145 councils so far.
President Muizzu has said that he plans on visiting all residential islands at least twice during his presidency.
