President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has departed on a three-day visit to islands in Raa and Baa atolls.
During the visit, the president is scheduled to visit numerous islands in the region, where he will engage with residents, and officials from councils and Women’s Development Committees (WDCs).
His first stop was R. Alifushi.
According to the President’s Office, he will actively interact with local communities and councils, seeking ways to expedite development projects.
The office said the interactions with the local councils will also involve discussions on community priorities and developmental vision for their respective islands.
Earlier in February, the president visited Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, Thinadhoo City, Thaa Atoll, and Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, engaging with all the councils of these atolls.
He also met with all councils in Gaaf Alif Attoll, expect for two.
Most recently, he visited islands in Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani and Noonu atolls.
According to the President’s Office, he held meetings with councils and WDCs of all the islands, except for one in Noonu Atoll.
President Muizzu has said that he plans on visiting all residential islands at least twice during his presidency.
