Three vehicles collided in a road accident in Hulhumale’ Phase I on Monday, leaving two people injured.
The accident took place near the Ruhgandu 2 in Nirolhu Magu, the main road of the suburban island, at around 06:20 am.
According to police, a taxi car was driving past the public space, when it got rear-ended by a taxi van. The car then crashed into a private car which was parked on the side of the road.
Photos shared on social media show all three vehicles were damaged in the accident.
The taxi had a huge dent on the front and in the rear, while the van had a huge dent in the front.
A police spokesperson said that the people driving the taxi and van sustained minor injuries in the accident. They were identified as a 46-year-old Maldivian male and a 52-year-old Maldivian male.
Both were licensed drivers.
The accident is under investigation by the police.
