President Muizzu returns to Male’ after UAE trip

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has concluded his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and returned to Male’.

President Muizzu travelled to UAE at the invitation of the country's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to attend the 2024 World Governments Summit.

He returned to Male’ on Thursday afternoon.

On Tuesday, President Muizzu delivered his main address at the World Governments Summit, in which he announced an ambitious vision for the Maldives' future to achieve sustainable development.

The president also held several high-level engagements on the sidelines of the summit.

President Muizzu also delivered a keynote address at the Invest Maldives 2024 Dubai, held at Burj Al Arab, during which he emphasized the essential role of private sector-led growth in achieving the transformation goals the government aspires to.

The forum also served as a networking platform for potential investors to engage with the local business community, and high-level government officials.

During the visit, the president also met with the Maldivian community residing in the UAE.

During the meeting, he officially launched "Riveli," a tailor-made online program to revitalize nationalistic identity, by incorporating Dhivehi language and Islamic studies to teach Maldivians abroad.
