Applications open for EC membership as Habeeb’s term is set to expire

The President’s Office has opened applications for the post of member of the Elections Commission (EC) as the term of the EC’s Vice President Ismail Habeeb is set to expire soon.

Habeeb’s term will expire on March 13th.

The President’s Office said applications will be open till 12:30pm on Tuesday, January 30th.

The office will be accepting applications between 08:30 am and 12:30 pm on Monday, January 29 and Tuesday, July 30.

Application forms are available for download on the President’s Office’s website.

EC consists of five members. It was member Ali Nashath’s term that expired the most recently. However, he was reappointed upon application after he received approval.
