Villa College has officially opened its VCARE Counselling and Psychotherapy Center – the first such center to be established at an educational institute in the Maldives.
The center was opened by Villa College’s rector Dr. Ahmed Anwar in a ceremony at the college on Monday morning.
Speaking at the ceremony, Anwar said that the main purpose of the center it to offer the students and faculty at the Villa College and the Villa international High School a safe environment.
I hope this center will assist in improving the quality of education offered by the Villa College and in resolving the issues facing the college’s students and faculty, he said.
The center offers psychosocial support, counselling, psychotherapy and psychological assessments.
The center also offers the college’s Bachelor’s and Masters of Science (Counselling) students internship opportunities, so they can gain academic and technical experience.
The center will be open on working days from 09:00 am to 09:00 pm.
