VP departs on official visit to Montenegro

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has departed on an official visit to the Republic of Montenegro.

He left for the Balkan country on Saturday morning.

According to the President’s Office, VP Hussain is scheduled to attend the 3rd Congress of Democratic Montenegro, which is being held in the town of Danilovgrad, from Sunday to Tuesday.

He has been extended an invitation to address the Congress, by Aleksa Bečić, the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, and President of the centrist political party, Democratic Montenegro.

Maldives and Montenegro established diplomatic relations on November 24, 2009.
