President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed greetings and good wishes to the Maldivian people on occasion of Huravee Day.
He sent his greetings through a social media post on Saturday.
After several years, the government has resumed organizing Huravee Day celebrations this year, such as the children’s festival, organized by the Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture, and Heritage, on Friday evening.
Huravee Day pays tribute to the first Sultan in the Huraa dynasty, Sultan al-Ghazi al-Hassan Izzudddin, better known as Dhon Bandaarain, who freed the Maldives from South Indian invaders.
The president and first lady are set to attend the official ceremony to mark this year’s Huravee Day, at the Social Centre in Male’ City, later Saturday.
