Road Development Corporation (RDC) has begun redeveloping the remaining segments of Ameenee Magu.
RDC said it began work on segments 12 and 13 of the road on Saturday.
Some of the roads in the area have been closed for the work, resulting in changes to the traffic flow.
RDC did not say when the work will be done.
The unfinished Maafannu end of Ameenee Magu is a high-traffic area with food courts, a mosque, Viliamle’ Ferry Terminal and Dhiraagu head office in the vicinity.
The redevelopment of Ameenee Magu was contracted to RDC during the former administration on July 3 for MVR 84.4 million.
