President appoints nine additional deputy ministers

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed nine additional deputy ministers to government ministries.

The latest appointments were made on Wednesday.

They are:

• Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs – Ali Janah
• Deputy Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works – Mohamed Arif
• Deputy Minister of Homeland Security and Technology - Mariyam Shifana Ali Saleem
• Deputy Minister of Finance - Hassan Miras
• Deputy Minister of Education - Aminath Muna
• Deputy Minister of Tourism - Ahmed Maais
• Deputy Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development – Ibrahim Aleem
• Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare – Fathimath Zuhura
• Deputy Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts –Abdulla Mahzoom Majid

With the new appointments on Wednesday, the total number of deputy ministers appointed to the 22 government ministries has risen above 70.
