Man stabbed in Hiyaa flat

A man has been stabbed at a flat in the Hiyaa Housing Project in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

A police spokesperson said the victim – identified as a Maldivian man – was reported to have been attacked with a sharp-edged weapon at an apartment at H6 on Wednesday night.

He has been taken to the hospital.

The police did not disclose any further details, but said that officers were at the scene.

This marks the second violent crime reported in the Maldivian capital on Wednesday. It follows a street fight on Orchid Magu in Male’ City, which left a man injured.

Both Male’ and Addu have seen a spike in violent crimes in recent days.
