A fight broke out between two expatriate workers inside the kitchen of a café in Male’ City on Tuesday, leaving one of them in serious condition.
The incident, which took place in a café located on Maaveyo Magu, was reported to the police at around 12:10 pm.
According to the police, the fight took place between the café’s cook – a Nepalese male – and a kitchen helper – a Bangladeshi male.
Both sustained injuries in the incident and are being treated at the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
According to the police, the hospital reported that the condition of the Bangladeshi worker is serious.
Videos of the incident show the two men, who are both bleeding, wrestling with each other on the kitchen floor. A third man is seen intervening to remove a knife from one of them.
The case is under investigation by the police.
