President appoints 26 deputy ministers

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed 26 deputy ministers at 22 government ministries.

The appointments were made on Tuesday.

They are:

  • Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade - Solih Hussain
  • Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade - Aishath Shahudha Abdulla
  • Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade - Mohamed Aish
  • Deputy Minister of Tourism - Ibrahim Yoosuf Fulhu
  • Deputy Minister of Tourism - Mohamed Yamin Ahmed
  • Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade - Ahmed Salim Saeed
  • Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources - Ahmed Shafiu
  • Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources - Hammadh Abdul Kareem
  • Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs - Hawwa Latheef
  • Deputy Minister of Education - Sulthan Ramiz

President Muizzu has asked for parliamentary approval for his 22 Cabinet ministers, and has sent his candidates for the top management of state-owned enterprises to the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) for vetting.
