Search commences for missing woman from Hithadhoo

Maldives Police Service has launched a search operation for a woman who was reported missing from Addu City’s Hithadhoo district.

Police, in a post on X, identified the missing woman as Aishath Vishama, 39, Kadhurumaage, S. Hithadhoo.

Citing her family, Police said that she had last been in contact with them last Sunday, adding that the family reported her missing on the same day.

Police have requested anyone with information regarding Vishama’s whereabouts to contact them at 3322111 or 9791382. 

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of missing persons cases reported; often the person in question gets in contact with their family shortly after police make public announcements seeking to locate them.
